Coachella
What: The ‘Indie’ music festival, the Coachella music and arts festival is a consecutive three-day weekend celebration of both popular and established musical artists and indie and local music, that also features art installations and cultures, and owing to the continuous party atmosphere created by the festival goers who set up camp in the grounds of the festival, one of the wildest, freest and fun festivals in the world.
Held in the Colorado desert on the brink of California, Coachella has developed from a small rebellion against ‘Ticketmaster culture’ into a several stage festival attended by hundreds of thousands with the identical line-up on both weekends of the festival showcasing the best of indie, hip-hop, electro, dance and international acts, making sure that whatever your artistic taste there’s something for you view and take part in at Coachella.
When: Coachella takes place over two consecutive three-day weekends in April, with each weekend lasting from the Friday to midnight on the Sunday and the line-ups and acts being almost identical for the two weekends.
Where: Coachella takes place in the Colorado desert, in Indio California on the long fields of the Empire Polo Club, where food and drink stands, shower and toilet facilities and a huge campaign site as well as the many Coachella stages are all put in place on the fields of the Polo club.

Duration: the festival lasts over the course of three days, throughout which the music, parties and art exhibits going on from dawn to midnight each day, and the ‘international’ and main acts being the ones to close out each day of the festival.
For the music acts, set times vary based on the artist, with the full schedule and set-times for the different stages released on the official Coachella app a few days before the first weekend of the festival.

To purchase tickets attendees are first required to sign up to Coachella website in advance and sign up for the pre-sale registration. Then on the 6th January at 12pm PT (or probably a little bit before) get yourself onto the ticketing website above and join the virtual waiting room, when the ticket sales open at both 12pm PT and 3pm PT, you can follow the steps to purchase tickets for either the first or second weekend of the festival, with tickets limited to 4 per person and being shipped to attendees directly.
In terms of ticketing options, there are no single day passess for Coachella, so you have to pay for a 3‑day pass regardless of whether you intend to attend all three day, with prices and ticketing options being a general admission ticket at $429, a campaign and festival ticket at $$531 and an admission and shuttle option at $504, depending on how you choose to make your way to Coachella and whether you intended on campaign or staying in accommodation.
Need to Know: It’s advised to arrive several hours before to the site before the acts you wish to see begin, as congestion and crowding can kick in hours in advance, also be sure to pre-register in advance for tickets and if not camping book accommodation well in advance that is on the line and route of the shuttle bus or taxi services.
Also be warned that the temperatures at Coachella can dip and change suddenly from the single digits to the high 40’s – so bring sun screen, but also a couple of layers to be prepared for the weather.
