Roswell UFO Festival
What: Commemorating the infamous ‘Roswell Incident’ the Roswell UFO festival is the place for sceptics and believers alike to explore, celebrate and discuss other worldly life.
While the festival begins with a good humoured ‘Alien chase’ – a series of fun runs in alien fancy dress, and also plays host to alien pet dress-up, an electric light parade and a host of alien related food snacks, the Roswell UFO museum and international Roswell UFO research centre spend 3 days discussing the Roswell incident, latest outer space research and dissecting the merits of life in outer space – for an out of this world experience !
When: The festival takes place for 3 days in July, typically beginning the day after independence day and commemorating the anniversary of the infamous Roswell crash, although be sure to double check as the dates do move.
Where: The main parade, alien chase and electric light parade take place on main street in Roswell, with the lectures, events and talk taking place in the Roswell UFO museum, to fill the gaps in between activities the Roswell museum and Roswell international UFO research centre also put on displays.
Duration: The festival typically lasts for 3 days, with the Saturday of the festival using being the busiest day and ending in a light parade.
Tickets: there are no tickets required for the UFO festival – although registration is required on the day if you wish to enter one of the fun runs and a small price ($5) is charged to enter the museums.
